Beacon Plus learners actively participated in National Careers Week, where they had the opportunity to engage with speakers from various local businesses. The week included a soup making workshop hosted by David from The Education People at our cafe, who shared insights about his catering business. Additionally, learners received visits from Kent Police, Go Recruitment, East Kent Volunteering, McDonalds, HMRS Host, and Kenney, an engineering manager, who discussed different career paths. The event also featured the return of Beacon Plus alumni Jack, Blayne, and Luke, who are now employed or volunteering, and shared about their respective roles and responsibilities. To add to the experience, learners also enjoyed a careers "escape room" activity and planned and filmed a video about neuro diversity at work.
